I haven't tried recently, but fwiw have never had a problem in the past doing: (from konsole:) cvs update, make World, etc. kde logout (exit X) make install cp <path to>/radeon.o /lib/modules/...etc.../char/radeon.o rmmod radeon depmod -a startx I have also rmmod'd radeon w/o changing it and restarted X w/o any probs before as well.
