You *should* be able to use the i830 driver. AFAIK, the i830M/i845G/i845GE/i855GM/i865G all use the same graphics core, so the 3D driver should just work.
Ian is correct. If you're interested in tracking the DRI project and helping with the latest development version of the drivers, you're at the right place.
If you simply want the stable driver, you'll find that in any distribution using XFree86 4.3.
