Summary: Multi Media and D-Space

Initial Comment:
We have problems with Multi Media and D-Space.
At the Archive of the community of the city of Rotterdam
we are evaluating DSpace to determine the usability to
build a archive of digital record. To Archive small
movies is one of the aims of the project. We
encountered the next problem:
We can submit a Mpeg2 file.
We can play the Mpeg2 file directly from HD.
But if we try to play the movie (on the same PC) using
DSpace finding and accessing the file, the process fails.
Does anyone has the same problem? Is there a
solution?

Also note that streaming video doesn't seem to work over SSL
(https:) for some reason.

Hi Hans,

this kind of problem is best raised on the dspace-tech list.

I'm guessing, but you might get that problem if you don't
tell DSpace the correct MIME type for your file.

Best regards,
jim
