The Solr Administrative REST API can be used to install the search core
directly into Solr on DSpace Discovery XMLUI startup if it is absent from the
solr configuration.

for an example, in fact, it would be good to have an administrative Control
Panel in DSPace XMLUI that allowed one to install, update, copy and replace the
core(s) in Solr from the DSpace XMLUI. And this could apply to Statistics Cores
as well as Search Cores.
