Hello All, On behalf of the DSpace 5.0 Release Team and the Committers, I wanted to update the community around the status of the upcoming DSpace 5.0 release. We were hoping to release 5.0 in early December, but our November Testathon uncovered a variety of minor bugs which we'd like to ensure are resolved in 5.0.
In the last month, we've been working hard to verify and fix all of the bugs which you (the Community) helped us to locate. The vast majority of them have now been resolved in a brand new 5.0 Release Candidate #3 (5.0-rc3) version: * Download 5.0-rc3 from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dspace/files/DSpace%20Release%20Candidate/5.0-rc3/ * Checkout 5.0-rc3 (in GitHub) from: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/releases/tag/dspace-5.0-rc3 * 5.x Documentation: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/ (For a list of all issues resolved in 5.0-rc3, please see our "5.0-rc3" milestone in GitHub: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/pulls?q=milestone%3A5.0-RC3+is%3Aclosed ) As the end of year / holidays are approaching quickly, the DSpace Committers have decided to delay the final 5.0 Release until mid-January (tentatively January 15, 2015). This provides us all with more time to test out the new 5.0-rc3 pre-release for any final bugs, and more time to fix any last bugs that may be discovered along the way.
