trying without the -dao option yields the same results.

is the fact that it cant read a TOC header good?since it is blank in theory I would think there wouldn't be a TOC..

I've never tried to write isos in -dao mode. What happens if you leave that out?

-atip and -toc should show whether the media is really blank.
