04/08/2005:  The Eindhoven Student Radioamateur Club (ESRAC) will be
active August 4-16th from Sareiser Joch (WW Loc. JN47tc), Liechtenstein.
They will operate as be HB0/PA6TUE (QSL via PI4TUE) and HB0/homecall on
160m-3cm, with an emphasis on the low bands, 6 metres and digital modes

04/08/2005:  Sylvester DH4PB, Al LU1DZ, Hector LU6UO and Fernando LW2DX
will operate on all bands mainly CW from two rare provinces of Argentina
in August. Look for LU/DH4PB/S, LU1DZ/S, LU6UO/S and LW2DX/S August
4-10th from La Roja and for LU/DH4PB/R, LU1DZ/R, LU6UO/R and LW2DX/R

04/08/2005:  SU8IOTA will be active starting Thursday August 4th from
Matruh region islands (IOTA AF-099). Most probably we are going to
activate Hashafat El Qutt island as it is the nearest of them to the
shore. They received their license on a very short notice. The operation

Tower of the Castle of Andonno to Valdieri (DCI reference CN-261, for

05/08/2005:  Linda VE9GLF/p and Len VE9MY/p will activate 2-3 new
Canadian Islands on August 5th and 7th. August 5th operation will be
from Moser Island, Nova Scotia and will not be IOTA. Time will be around
20:30 UTC. On August 7th they have arranged transportation to 1-2 new
Canadian islands that will both qualify for IOTA NA-081. Both operations
on August 7th will be dependent on weather conditions. They will be
using 100 watts with R4 vertical for 20 meters and a dipole for 40. QSL

05/08/2005:  Barry, WA5DTK, plans to be QRV August 5th from the Port
Isabel lighthouse (ARLHS reference USA-649), Texas. Activity will be
intermitent and mostly on SSB on 20 and 15 meters, with 40 meter SSB at
15:00, 19:00, and 21:00 UTC. Barry might operate at similar times on
August 6th from either Aransas Pass/Lydia Ann Channel (ARLHS USA-018) or
Corpus Christi [Historic] (ARLHS USA-1137). Some CW is also possible on

06/08/2005:  Les, G3VQO, will be active August 6th as F/G3VQO/p from the
Moulin de la Victoire (Victory Mill) (DMF reference 59-038, for the
French Mills Award). He needs 25 QSOs to confirm. If done Les will
activate the Moulin du Nord (North Mill) (DMF 59-039).  All bands SSB
starting 10:00 UTC until 15:30, with a short try on 80 meters at 11:00
UTC (attention of Belgian and French Hams of the Nord Pas de Calais,

the Cras sur Reyssousse Mill (DMF reference 01-065), Department Ain (01)

06/08/2005:  Look for the special call K3L to be QRV August 6-7th from
the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-845), Maryland. Activity
will be on 80-15 meter AM phone, on or around the usual ARLHS phone

the Point Aux Barques Lighthouse (ARLHS USA-615), Michigan. Activity

06/08/2005:  The Old Barney Amateur Radio Club will be operating as N2OB
from "Old Barney", the Barnegat Lighthouse (ARLHS referemce USA-039) on
Long Beach Island, NJ, (IOTA NA-111, USI NJ001S) on August 6th from
about 1300z until 2100z (rain date August 7th). Most of the operation is
planned for 20 and 40 meters SSB and local 2 meters. QSL via N2OB. [Tnx

06/08/2005:  Members of the Low Country Contest Club, namely: Ed K3IXD,
Mel W4MEL, Mac KF4GLE, Butch K4NAU, Vince KI4AOC, Randy K4QO, Ed W4NSC,
Steve AA4V, Pete W2GJ, Bob AF4OX, Frank KG4IGC, Mark KG4ORA, Dennis
KG4RUL and Tom WA4DAX will activate Sullivans Island (IOTA NA-110, USI
SC-004S, Charleston County), South Carolina. The activity will take
place August 6-7th, using the call NU4SC, in conjunction with the
National Lighthouse-Lightship Weekend. They will also activate the

06/08/2005:  Operators Gerard KE9I (P40QX), Eric K9GY (P40GY), Mike AJ9C

August 6-20th. They will be active in the WAE CW Contest (possibly as
P40QX in remembrance of Leo N9QX who passed away this year [father of

06/08/2005:  Mario TG9ADQ, Francisco TG9ANF, Edgar TG9AXF and Sergio
TG9SM will be active August 6-7th (from 18:00 UTC to 18:00 UTC) as TG4P
from near the Pacaya volcano, which is in constant eruption. It is
located 17.1 miles to the South of Guatemala City and it is 8,373 feet
high. They will be operating SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and CW on 40, 20, 15, 10

Lighthouse (ARLHS reference CAN-542), in Toronto, for the National

06/08/2005:  Bill, W4WNT, plans to operate from the Oak Island
Lighthouse (WLH reference K-112, ARLHS USA-558), North Carolina, on
August 6th. Activity will be on 14.268 and 7.268 MHz SSB, around 18:00

07/08/2005:  Look for AK8B to be operating from Lodge Island (OH???L), a
new Ohio island, on Sunday 7 August 2005 from about 13:00 UTC till 23:00
UTC. This is a weather permitting operation, so watch for additional
information. Operators will be Bruce (AK8B), Steve (N8LGP), Cathy

07/08/2005:  Look for Piero I1ASU/p (SSB) and Antoniio I1ZB/p (CW) to be
QRV August 7th from the lighthouse Faro di Vado Ligure (WAIL LI-004,
ARLHS ITA-017). They will also activate the Forte di Vado Ligure (DCI
reference SV-131, Region of Liguria, Province of Savona). Activity will
be on 40 and 20 meters, starting around 06:00 UTC. QSL via home calls,

07/08/2005:  Special call UE0SAA will be active August 7-16th from the
Ol'honsky area (RDA reference IR-35, for the Russian Districts Award),

07/08/2005:  Steve, W3HF, will be active as W3HF/4 from Bogue Banks
Island (IOTA NA-112, USI NC-010S, Grid Loc. FM14, Carteret County),
North Carolina, from August 7th to 13th. Operation will be QRP on 40
through 15 meters. Equipment will be a vertical and a Yaesu FT-817.
Primary mode will be PSK, with some SSB possible. (Steve requests that
stations who want SSB operation contact him before the trip via email
at: [EMAIL PROTECTED]). This operation qualifies for the APE
(August PSK Expedition) endorsement from the PODXS 070 Club
(http://www.podxs.com/html/070_club.html). There is also a possibility
of 6 meter PSK and/or SSB operation, from either Steve or his

08/08/2005:  Starting August 8th 2005, and for a 2 years assignment,
Fred, F5INL will be in Papeete, French Polynesia (IOTA OC-046, DIFO
FO-002). His new call sign is FO5INL. It seems that's the first time, a
three letters suffix will be issued in FO5 area. He will use a TS50,
AT50, Morse paddles and ???antennas. During his stay, a QSY is scheduled
to Easter Island (SA-001) and another to New Zealand. More information

08/08/2005:  Look for Dennis (M0LSB) to be active August 8-11th as
MM0LSB/p from South Uist (IOTA EU-010, SCOTIA HI-06, IOSA OH-003), Outer
Hebrides. Activity will be on, or near, the usual IOTA frequencies. QSL

09/08/2005:  Jean Claude, F6HDH, and Francis, F6HKS, plan to be active
from several lighthouses of Ouessant, Ile d'Ouessant (IOTA EU-065, DIFM
AT-001), and some others from the surrounding EU-065 island group. Look
at the clusters; the small islands and lighthouses will be choosen as
weather and transport permits. They will be active each morning on
August 9 and 10 from 05:00 to 12:00 UTC. Francis will be operating as
F6HKS/p on 40, 30 and 20 meter CW, while Jean Claude will be operating

09/08/2005:  Filippo, I4TDK, plans to be QRV August 9-18th as IB0/I4TDK
from Isola di Ponza (IOTA EU-045, IIA LT-001, MIA MI-076) on 9-18

09/08/2005:  Vincenzo, IZ0FKE, plans to be QRV August 9-13th as
OH1/IZ0FKE from the island of Parainen-Pargas (IOTA EU-096). Activity

09/08/2005:  Bruce, KK5DO (http://www.amsatnet.com/p5a.html) reports
that Dave, KA2HTV will operate as P5/KA2HTV from North Korea on 9-23
August. Online logs will not be avialable during the operation, as Dave
uses paper logs and the data will have to be entered into a computer

77411-0310, USA). "Please limit your contacts to one", Bruce says. "Many
hams were not able to work Ed, P5/4L4FN. Please allow those that did not

10/08/2005:  E20EHQ, E22BH and others will operate on 40, 20 and 15
metres as E20EHQ/7 August 10-15th from the art camp organized by the Art
for All Foundation in Thailand's Petchaburi province. The Art for All
project brings together children with and without disabilities through
integrated programmes of visual, performing, and literary arts. QSL via

10/08/2005:  Last "unopened" IOTA New One in Russia is going to be
activated August 10-17, 2005!!! Team of operators: Roman RV3MA, Alex
RW3DTP, Sergey RW6HJV, Eugene RZ3EC, Valery RZ6AU and Leonid UA6CW will
operate as R0K either from Shalaurova Island or from some satellites
(because of high radiation on the main island!). Now, that is the matter
of discussion with IOTA committee. There is a lighthouse located on the
island also. Later on, the team plans to operate from Ayon Island
(AS-038) group (from Bolshoy and Malyj Routan Islands, where lighthouses
are located valid for WLH, RLHA, ARLHS and WLOTA award programs).

28/08/2005:  Russell, G5XW, plans to be QRV August 28th to September 4th

01/09/2005:  Phil, WA2ART/1, will be on the air from Johnson Island
