2O, ENGLAND & WALES (Special Event 2012 London Olympic & Paralympic Games).
Look for the following special event callsigns to be activated to celebrate
the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games:
 2O12L - Members of Cray Valley Radio Society (CVRS) will activate the
         London, England, station through the duration of the Games, and
         will be located at the historic Eltham Palace, southeast London.
         Activity will be on 160-2 meters using all modes. More information

John, G4IRN, Publicity Officer for Project Echo, states [edited], "Amateur
radio operators everywhere will be able to share in the Olympic experience
by making contact with the stations and to exchange greetings messages with
visitors and Games participants who visit the station --- the team's aim
is to make a contact with as many of the Games participating countries as
possible..... The project aims to leave a lasting legacy by encouraging
visitors to learn more about radio communications and the social, career
and recreational benefits that it brings. Of course, visiting hams will be
made very welcome at the stations."

3V, TUNISIA. Operators Hrane/YT1AD, Milos/YT3M, Zlatko/Z30A and Ash/KF5EYY
will be active as 3V8BB during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th)
as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via YT1AD.

4J, AZERBAIJAN. Members of the "Safari DX Activators" club will once
again be active as 4J0SFR and 4J5T from the Natural Reserve Shahdag
(4JFF-019) [new one] between March 23-24th. Activity will be SSB using
a Kenwood TS-450 and Windom antenna. QSL both callsigns via 4J5T.

5D, MOROCCO. Operators Stefano/IK2QEI and Matteo/IK2SGC will be active
with the special callsign 5D5A from CN3A contest station during the CQWW
WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via IV3ZXQ
or LoTW.

6W, SENEGAL. Tony, F8ATS, will be active as F8ATS/6W from Le-Calao, La
Somone, between March 30th and April 7th. Activity will be holiday style
probably on all HF bands. QSL via the Bureau is preferred.

9M6, SPRATLY. Pekka, OH2YY, who was recently active as 9M6AAC from the
Hillview Gardens club station in East Malaysia, will be active as 9M6/OH2YY
from Pulau Layang Layang (Swallow Reefs - AS-051), Spratly Islands, between
Friday morning March 23rd and Monday evening, March 26th. On Friday and
Monday, Pekka informs OPDX that he will be on 40-10 meters SSB, focusing
17 and 12 meters, and on Saturday & Sunday participating in the CQWW WPX
SSB Contest. QSL via his home callsign to: Pekka Ahlqvist, Vapaalanpolku 8B,
01650 Vantaa, Finland (or by the SRAL Bureau).

A2, BOTSWANA. Operators Frosty/K5LBU (A25CF), Keith/VE7MID (A25KW),
Don/VE7DS (A25DS) and Joel/N5JR (A25JR) will continue to be active from
the Lotsane Safari Lodge until March 27th. Remember the group plans to
be active in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th) as A25HQ. They
will have about 3 rigs and a log periodic plus wire antenna covering
160 meters and up. It was also mentioned that they would use an inverted
L with amp and a beverage antenna. K5LBU will handle QSL cards for A25HQ
and A25CF. QSL all others via their home callsigns direct.

CR3, MADEIRA ISLAND (AF-014). Members of the CT3 Madeira Contest Team
will be active as CR3A during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th)
as a Multi-? entry. QSL via LoTW or CQ9K. Operators mentioned are: Joe/

DAYTON HAMVENTION (Press Release - DX Dinner). [edited] "The SouthWest
Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) is pleased to announce that Don Greenbaum,
N1DG, will be the speaker for the DX Dinner ™ on Friday, May 18th, at
the Dayton Marriott, 1414 S. Patterson Blvd., Dayton, OH 45409. Don is
well known to most DXers. He first became licensed as WN2DND at age 11
in 1962. In 1996 he changed his call to N1DG. He has been either a pilot,
a QSL manager, or a team member on many DX trips. He was inducted into
the CQ Magazine DX Hall of Fame in 2006, and is a founding member of the
CW Operators Club. He is also the Treasurer and a Director of the Northern
California DX Foundation. Don's work, which can involve camel racing as
well as auto racing, takes him to many interesting places around the
world. Along with his radio experiences, he should provide an interesting,
humorous, entertaining presentation. There will be a cash bar starting
at 5:30 P.M., with dinner served at 7:00 P.M. The program will also include
the DXpedition of the Year award, the announcement of the CQ Hall of Fame
inductee, and the presentation of many exciting door prizes. For ticket

station DL1630Y to be active in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th)
and between May 1st and July 31st. During the WPX contest, operator

E51, SOUTH COOK ISLANDS (Reminder). By the time you read this, the E51M
DXpedition team, which is going to North Cook Islands, should be active
as E51EWP from Rarotonga, South Cook Islands, between now and March 26th,
and again between April 11-14th. Activity will be on all bands, including
60m, using CW, SSB, but with an emphasis on RTTY because there is a high
demand for RTTY. QSL via DJ8NK, direct or by the Bureau. Online QSL

E51, NORTH COOK ISLANDS (Reminder). Operators (and members of the 3D20CR)
Jan/DJ8NK, Uwe/DJ9HX, Werner/DJ9KH, Hawa/DK9KX, Hans/DL6JGN, Ron/PA3EWP
and Leszek/SP3DOI will be active as E51M from Manihiki (OC-014) between
March 28th and April 10th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW,
SSB and RTTY. All equipment, except the transceivers, are already on
Manihiki. In all, they have eleven vertical antennas and a small 4 element
beam for 6m. They plan to set up 5 stations using K3's with 500W amps.

Mountain on Gran Canaria Island (AF-004, DIE S-005, WLOTA L 0969) during
the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th) as a Multi/Multi entry. QSL

FM, MARTINIQUE. Gil, FM5FJ, will be active during the CQWW WPX SSB
Contest (March 24-25th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m)/Low-Power
entry. QSL via KU9C.

FP, ST. PIERRE & MIQUELON. Eric, KV1J, will once again be operating
from the Island of Miquelon (NA-032, DIFO FP-002 WLOTA 1417, Grid GN17)
as FP/KV1J between July 10-17th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters using
CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31 (but primarily CW, SSB and RTTY). He will generally
be on the highest frequency band that is open, and he may try 6 meters
if there is an indications of openings.  Also, look for him on the satel-
lites, weather permitting. Eric will also be in the IARU HF Contest
(July 14-15th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Mixed-Mode/High-Power entry.

II9, ITALY (Operator Corrections). The II9K Contest Team will be active
from Sicily (EU-025, IIA SC-001, MIA MI-107, WLOTA 1362) during the CQWW
WPX SSB Contest (March 24-25th) as a Multi-Single/High-Power entry. They
will be using a new antenna setup improvement for the contest. Operators
mentioned are Giuseppe/IT9HBT, Girolamo/IT9GNG, Rino/IT9FXY, Vincenzo/
IT9ECQ, Mike/IF9ZWA, Sal/IW9FRA, Domenico/IW9GTD, Davide/IW9HII and

IOTA NEWS..............
  AS-175.  (Update) Prasad, VU2PTT, informs OPDX on March 21st: "The
           AT2DW team on Bet Shankhodhar Island has over 4000 QSOs and
           should have their amp running by now. The amp could not be
           used earlier due to school children camping close to the
           vertical antennas who have now departed and the team did not
           want to risk any accident. The amp will hopefully help them
           to work the more distant areas especially NA. They will be
           actively looking for more QSOs to NA and SA when openings are
           noted to give this new one to IOTA chasers there. The team has
           been active on all bands 80m through 10m and logs are being
           uploaded to Club Log whenever a reliable Internet connection

  EU-146.  Marcel, PD5MVH, will be active as homecall/p from Goerree
           Overflakkee Island (WLOTA 3501) between May 19th and June
           2nd. Activity will be mainly on 14245 and 28555 kHZ, and

  SA-039.  Members of the Radio Club Uruguayo and the Uruguay DX Group
           will be doing a joint operation and be active as CW5GI from
           Gorriti Island on March 30-31st and April 1st. This will be
           only the 2nd operation from this island after the 1st one,
           CW4R, a week ago. Operators mentioned are Jorge/CX1SI, Gustavo/
           CX2AM, Wilson/CX2RU, Humberto/CX3AN, Francisco/CX3BV, Gustavo/

nice weather in Porto Alegre, South Brazil, for the moment", but will be
flying to Montevideo, Uruguay, on March 27th, to join the DXpedition team

  JX0O QSL STATUS (Update to OPDX.1045). Stan, SQ8X, reports that the QSL
  cards were expected to be delivered from his printing shop around Wed-
  nesday this past week. Once received, the QSL shipment will start. He
  states, "To compensate for the long time that operators have been
  waiting, I decided to redesign cards and to make it even more attractive.
  What kind of changes - let it be a small surprise."

  PS0S ON LOTW. Cesar, PY2YP, announced this past week that he was able
  to obtain the 2000 PS0S, St. Peter & St. Paul Rocks, log from the
  operators and uploaded the log into the LoTW. He also stated, "I am

V7, MARSHALL ISLANDS (Update OPDX.1054). Jim, K4FW, informs OPDX that
there has been another delay for his trip to Kwajalein Island (OC-028)
due to the launch window being moved towards the end of April or end of
May/early June. Jim works for the Orbital Sciences Corporation and works
with the Pegasus launch vehicle. More specifically, as the Launch Panel
Operator (LPO) and is part of the flight crew on the Orbital's L-1011.

ZQ3, GIBRALTAR. Operators/brothers Mike/ZB3M and Ed/ZB2ER will activate
the special callsigns ZQ3M and ZQ2ER, respectively, from Gibraltar between
May 5th and June 10th. Activity is to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of
Queen Elizabeth II. QSL via ZB3M direct only. NO BUREAU or NO ELECTRONIC
