Hi Jim and the Dx4win fellows... Here is what I have: (Main menu > Preferences > Ext data) Callsign lookup address: http://www.qrz.com/ QSL manager lookup address: http://www.qrz.com/callsign?qsl= When in the main log window, hitting F3 with a callsign opens a new window with the information about that station (may be from the RAC, if installed). The same callsign will appear in the Callsign box below. If I hit Enter, QRZ.com comes with the QSL information about that callsign. If a callsign is in the next QSL Mgr box below, when I hit Enter, QRZ.com comes with the general information (name, etc.) about that callsign. I don't know if this is the best setup, but it works well for me. 73 de Isidro, EA8NQ E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] -------------------------- Visit the EA8NQ's DX Page: www.qsl.net/ea8nq/ -------------------------- From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 24 03:04:49 2005 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (ON4AOI) Date: Mon Oct 24 03:07:19 2005 Subject: [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hi Jim, I use the following method In Preferences Callsign lookup address http://www.qrz.com/ QSL manager lookup address http://www.ik3qar.it/manager/man_result.php?call= Most users will find this strange but MY priority is if the heard/worked station has a QSL MANAGER or not with a valid address. After entering the call push "F3" this activates the Callsign / Mgr lookup window Push "ENTER" and you get the results from ik3qar website 1: if the station has a qsl mgr his call will show up 2: I copy the result to the QSL MGR field if it isn't there 3: Push "F3" again in the "QSL MGR" field, this will pop up also the Callsign / Mgr lookup window with the QSL MGR filled in now. Click in this field and push "ENTER" now you get the results for this call from QRZ.COM 4: if no manager is found you can fill the original call into QSL MGR field And follow the above procedure. Example Call = EA6/ON4AOI Push "F3" & "ENTER" => ON4AOI Copy ON4AOI to QSL Mgr field Push "F3" in QSL Mgr field Now In the Callsign / Mgr lookup screen Go into QSL Mgr field (where ON4AOI should be now) and push "ENTER" Now you get all (my) details from QRZ.COM 73 Guy ON4AOI BAND DECODER and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/banddecoder.htm DX4WIN soft and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/dx4win.htm DX4WIN, WRITELOG, WF1B & RITTY CW & RTTY interfaces at http://www.on4aoi.be/keyer.htm ARSWIN link and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/web7.htm DXTELNET soft and related stuff at http://www.on4aoi.be/dxt.htm -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jim Reisert AD1C Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2005 11:11 PM To: John, K9EL; dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Question on F3 Callsign Lookup If someone can write an application note for me that describes both how to SET UP and how to USE QRZ.COM lookups in DX4WIN, I'll put it on my web site and give you credit.
