In the simplest case, simply copy your <call>.DXL file from your old
DX4WIN "SAVE" directory to the new one. Open it up in the new
version, and voila, it will all be there, with all your QSO data and
award status in-tact. When you save the log with the new version, it
will be in a slightly different format that is NOT backward compatible
with older versions.

There are upgrade instructions in the help file, and on my web page;

    http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/upgrade.htm

with some additional notes about DX4WIN 8 at the bottom. In addition
to copying your log file, you should import your preferences from the
old old version to the new one.

The upgrade from old version -> 8 is really no more complicated than
from (say) 7.02 to 7.07, but there are ways to "improve upon your
data" this time around.
