Folks have had the most success with an FTDI chipset USB-to-RS232 converters as opposed to the Prolific chipset converters. I have had good luck with Valley Enterprises and they come with a 10-foot cable. http://www.amazon.com/Valley-Enterprises-Serial-Adapter-Chipset/dp/B003N9TYW 0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1378515070&sr=8-2&keywords=Valley+FTDI

Hi All I am replacing my desktop with a win 7 laptop. The radio is a Kenwood TS 950sdx. The interface is a Kenwood IF-232C to the old serial port on the desktop running XP. Is there a recommended dongle to connect the serial to USB port on laptop or is this not the way to go? I am running DX4WIN v8. Tnx Wally W1IOO ______________________________________________________________ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
