Hello Terry,
I have been experiencing a number of system hangs which I believe are
due to the e1000e driver. I have a Dell Optiplex 760, Intel Core 2 Duo,
4GB RAM, and I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 (32-bit).
From the stack included in the kernel oops output, I decided to apply
the patch you provided, which I found posted here:
http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/49175/
The line numbers did were off by 5 lines, but I inserted the lines in
the proper place. I have been using the patched e1000e.ko module for
less than a week.
This morning, I attempted an rsync operation which caused a hang once again.
I am attaching the oops output from 04/08/2010 and 04/14/2010.
Since the line numbers were off, I'm guessing that I might be missing
some other patch to netdev.c. I have attached my patched copy as well.
If you or anyone on the list has any suggestions, I would be happy to
try them.
Thanks,
-Charles
