-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey folks, I'm looking for some thoughts on whether we should postpone creating a print version of the Edubuntu Handbook to Edgy+1.
Arguments in favor of postponing until Edgy+1: - -- Some things in my personal life cropped up, and I'm not sure how much I'll be around between now and Edgy release day. - -- The Edgy release cycle is/was unusually short (barely four months compared to six months), and in that time, the Handbook team has taken on a lot: slight team reorganization, moving from wiki to DocBook+Subversion, getting Handbook out in print, changing from the Cookbook chapter breakdown to the Handbook one. Having one less thing on our plate certainly wouldn't hurt right now. - -- The extra time would give us a better shot at making the print Handbook 100% polished (we don't even have cover art, etc yet). Arguments against postponing until Edgy+1: - -- We have to get the digital version of Handbook ready on time for Edgy anyway, and getting that into a print version isn't that hard. - -- We've been waiting since the early days of Cookbook to get something in print, and some of us are feeling anxious to see it done. - -- We could have the digital Handbook ready in time for the Edgy release, then take a week or two after that to get the print version in order, thus getting the best of both worlds. I welcome thoughts/opinions/etc. Susan (HedgeMage) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFE+8Q5vWyNbJGZcawRAg49AKDnlELdsjn+5Hf7oDIGT11nvdMGKACgj+Mx kwYkVxuUlyVbmOj0qDn2W/E= =peVR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- edubuntu-devel mailing list edubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/edubuntu-devel
