*Pluralism, social cognition, and memory* Anika Fiebich (Università degli studi di Milano) 11 January 2019, 14h00, salle TD3 (ARSH) In my talk I will present a pluralist account of social cognition and discuss its implications for memory research. Unlike traditional approaches, a pluralist account does not defend the view that social understanding is primarily a matter of mental-state attribution via theorizing or simulating processes. Rather it depends on a variety of factors how we understand other people's minds and behaviors, including socio-situational features, individual moods and competencies, personaland social relationships and cognitive effort. This approach trumps alternatives by accounting for a wide range of findings from social and developmental psychology as well as neurosciences.
