Why wait -- consider that even a kit with a large number of parts goes together just like any other kit, one part at a time. A large kit just takes longer to complete, but that does not make it more difficult than a small kit.

There are checks along the way to check your work up to that point.

In addition, Elecraft kits with their quality PC boards containing thru-plated holes are much easier to solder than many others without thru-plated holes.
