I have a version of KComm that uses the DB command, though I have no idea if it works through a P3 because I don't have a P3.
I have pretty much lost all interest in the software development aspect of the hobby though I haven't completely given up on KComm as I still use it myself. However there are still several things outstanding to do before I go to all the trouble of updating the documentation, building an installer and officially releasing a new and hopefully final version and at the current rate of progress this might take a few more months.
