Yes, there is a practice sending mode.
Go to the menu, turn the VFO until you see "PLY", tap the VFO button to
toggle
Between transmit or "0" for practice.

Isn't there a mode to not actually transmit?  I am not sure that causing
interference on the band is a good suggestion......  How about into a
dummy load instead?
