I use it to make sure I've got the right UTC <--> local time offset. My iPhone also knows UTC. Oh, and RUMlog also knows UTC. I probably don't use it more than two or three times a year.

I set it to my computer's time every time I run the K3 utility, which is at least every time I hear on this list of a new version of the firmware. It is usually off by 20 seconds or so, which is plenty accurate enough to check the UTC offset. :-)

On the other hand, my computer uses network time protocol and has been spot on every time I've listened to WWV.
