The computer I do my logging on has a much more accurate clock mainly because of a little program that keeps it synchronized to the US Naval Observatory NTP server. It updates the computer clock every 15 minutes and then goes back to sleep. If I reboot the computer the program automatically syncs with USNO. Last update was 6 minutes before I wrote this. The computer clock was adjusted -0.002 seconds.

Why waste firmware space?
