Doug, Yes, thanks, you're right. I have the preamp set up to be active for the higher bands 12, 10, and 6 m, and in the bypass position otherwise. I use this to connect an old shortwave receiver (not an SDR) to my main antenna, so I guess it doesn't hurt for it with the extra gain. But I'll try both configurations, both before and after the preamp.
