The RS232 connector on my K3 (S/N 00001) has already had a couple of thousand mating cycles. (It gets more action than I do, for sure.) I do this for fun while waiting for code to compile.

Seriously, in a couple of hundred years as a ham (well, it feels that way), I've never seen a D connector with a bad or even loose connection. That's why these things have been around since the Pleistocene.
