If it's a K3, it's as simple friction fit with a spring to hold the knob securely; just pull it off. Be sure to you don't lose the spring insert when it comes off (it's a flat metal spring shaped like the end of the shaft) and orient the knob so the flat is aligned with the shaft when replacing it.
