I've had another look at this and it looks like it's already been fixed. The version of org-repeat-re in b40c4e did fail to match repeated timestamps like <2009-10-22 Thu +4d> but would not match <2009-10-22 Thu .+4d> or <2009-10-22 Thu ++4d>, so org-log-repeat would return nil and repeated tasks stop repeating.
