No, the incompetence of the guy trying to work out how to build .iso files does seem likely to be a problem. Basically the installers only know how to reformat and use the whole disk, or go to a manual process where it isn't a all clear what you need to do to persuade the installer to use empty space or an existing partition. From reading the internet it appears that there might be an automatic option to install "alongside" an existing Windows installation, but it doesn't seem to offer the option to install alongside an existing Linux. I imagine that there is some combination of boot flags, file system and mount-point that will mark a partition as "use this" but I didn't find it before messing everything up completely with an LVM(?) using the first partition where the existing OS was. -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1916 _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
