All of which makes one wonder why one would ever use IE as a mail reader! Rather like using a wrench as a hammer; sure, it can be made to work ...but why?
Personally, I use Outlook at work (only because I have to). But at home, I use Pegasus which I feel is the best email program going, and it is free for the download. Bob Wilson TIR Systems Ltd.
