Here is a link where you can look at the stepper ini and hal files. You can also go up in the directory tree and look at the other configuration files. A major stumbling block for me was running a windows PC and not knowing where to look to be able to view the files. I recommend bookmarking the link because to this day I have difficulty getting there from linuxcnc.org.
