There's a file called tool-length-probe.ngc in the nc_files folder of 
your EMC2 installation.  That is a demonstration of a method of setting 
tool length automatically after a manual tool change.

The tool change procedure includes a move to a predefined "tool change 
position" before asking the toolchanger (which could be you :) ) to swap 
tools.
