Yes IMO.

Much more expensive.

If you build a new one, you still gotta paint it and install controls so
no time (money) saved there. Cosmetic dents? - So what if it's not for
resale as "new". Pull em out if you must.

Possible, but fixable and still much less time taken than all the hassle
of buying steel, cutting, welding, painting etc, etc..
