Linux Mint is awesome. I run it on my main computer with the Cinnamon desktop, 
and on older computers with the lighter weight KDE desktop. I have two systems 
that are dual boot with Windows and no issues. The only issue is that every 
once in a great while I have to use Windows. ;)

I'm new to LinuxCNC, and I'm setting up a Raspberry Pi for that, so I can't 
speak to how well Mint works for LinuxCNC.

I've downloaded the .iso file.  Sad thing is it's just a tad larger than the 
DVD R/W disks I have here.  That means I'll have to look at a USB stick to boot 
from.  

The 1TB SSD I have can connect onto a USB 3.0 adaptor.  I wonder, if I used 
that as the target, if it would boot and install onto itself...
