no problems. well - don't worry about this - ms may apply for the patent - hell
they may be granted it - but prior art can be proven easily. but more
specifically they apply for SPECIAL uses like having the miniature of the
desktop zoom up to the full screen. sure - e doesn't and didn't do this - but
it's an obvious extension and thus doesn't count as being patentable. if it came
to court this wouldn't be hard to prove - e16 was zooming windows as u moused
over their miniatures in the pager long ago. if anyone gets sues or stomped on
by anyone - microsoft included, for violating patents that E has clearly prior
art for or are a simple "obvious extension" to such stuff i am always available
and willing to help anyone. this offer stands regardless. even if MS was being
sued by someone else claiming patent infringement on something pioneered by E
beforehand i'd offer to help MS out - just out of principle that i disagree with
the frivolous patent malarkey that abounds today. it stifles innovation and is
just a way for lawyers to get rich. the only people who win are lawyers in the
end. (sorry legal folks out there - but it's pretty much the truth). if patents
were granted as they truly should be on amazingly non-obvious and innovative
ideas, i might change my mind - but these patents are needles in the haystack.
