definitely not what we want. do we need an entire web browser to browse
documentation? i remember my reasons for dox - and they are still just as valid.
start a while web browser using many Mb of ram to view a simple help doc or
file? display some text wrapped around a diagram telling you what to do? how
about the extension of this.. using etox to format "help baloons" (or tooltips)
shall we suddenly require gecko/mozilla in the wm for this? no. this is why we
want etox. its a text formatting lib. it does it in an evas canvas. this is what
we want. mozilla (or gecko) does not do this, thus it is not what we want.

mozilla is HUGE. etox is TINY. there is one of the biggest reasons for using
etox.

when dox was written it started up in < 0.5 seconds. i remember at the time
netscape took > 6 seconds to start. this alone was a big reason - do u want to
wait 6, 10 or more seconds just to quickly view a document or look up something
then quit? i think not. yes our machines are faster - but what of the people on
P2-300's or even pentiums? i am still very much wanting to support these people
and make their desktop experience a joy. have yo used kde or gnome lately on a
pentium300 with 128mb ram? they crawl at continental drift. they take in the
order of a minute to start. e16 takes a few seconds. (less than 5) e17 is even a
bit faster than that. if its fast for people on their p300's or so - it will fly
like nothing else on your overgrown 1.5ghz whatever box. then we can afford to
use up the extra cycles even making things animate etc. if people want. i see no
use in spending cpu cycles doing what we can do for a lot less.
