ahhh, it should be erroring out in that case.  I will fix this.  unfortunately,
hal will still be in e17 until after efl 1.0 because I need to wait for that to
add mount support to eeze.  currently it only handles udev, which is enough to
replace hal in illum2, battery, and temperature modules.
