Hi Tapani,

I think this new Sigma when used on a small sensor digital body like the EOS
D30/D60/10D series cameras can produce adequate, not great image quality.
For a small sensor digital body this lens seems like a good deal for someone
who can't justify the expense of the EF 16-35 2.8L or even the cost of a
used EF 17-35 2.8L.

But given the price differential I might be tempted to buy a nice used EF
17-40 4L instead. Image quality should be slightly better at the wide end
but you might miss the 2mm shorter F/L of the Sigma. And you know that on a
digital body that 2mm while not much of a difference is a difference you
would kill for to gain a wider angle of view. There is not much of a
difference in price between a new Sigma 15-30 3.5-4.5EX and a used Canon EF
17-40 4L, within $100-$150 or so. I would have no problem buying a used
Canon lens but would have to really consider very carefully if buying a used
Sigma lens was the way to go so this is how I would compare them.

Cheers/Chip
