Jim - It is my understanding that Pioneer Pacific students have very high student loan default rates which implies that it is not a good bet employment wise, but I would recommend checking those figures not counting on what I heard 2nd hand.
Since you mentioned Salem, I hear Chemeketa's Operations program does lead to renumative employment quickly, often in the Salem area. The best network guy i 've worked with started out in mainframe operations and I know several others who took that path. I would also ask LCC about opportunities for internships. That is probably your best sign of and opportunity for potential success.
