I'd like to highlight a potential problem with the logo before this
evening's meeting.

The PSF has just asked the PyCon UK Society to stop using a derived
version of the python.org logo (we stylised the logo using a Union
Flag). They have been advised to do this by a lawyer. This despite the
PSF board being circulated with a link to the pyconuk.org website
complete with logo over a year ago when we asked permission to use the
PyCon name.

So, the question is: Has anyone asked the PSF board for permission to
use the python.org logo in the new EuroPython logo?

If not, they need to be asked. We don't want to go much further, for
instance in getting tee shirts printed, if the PSF is going to ask us
not to use our new logo.

Best wishes,

John
