Compared to what you'll have to pay in Birmingham, it's a no-brainer
and I got ripped off there as well, again going from the airport
to the hotel - looks like a systematic problem :-).


It's not a systematic problem, but the way the charging works, you pay
double price per km (or about that) if you get a taxi from the street rather
than calling it and it's an official charging scheme, not a ripoff. The
hotel calls you a taxi thus you end up paying less per km.

Good to know and probably worth putting up on the web-site.
