Hello,

This is to confirm the next EP improve meeting:

Date: Tomorrow/Today Tuesday 27th January 2009

Time: 18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET

Location: freenode #europython

I am away teaching a Python course and may only be able to join in for
a short time, so I'll put a few notes with the agenda with what I
know.

AGENDA

1. Apologies

2. Review Actions from Last Meeting

* europython.org. mal has been in contact with Herr Reulbach, who
wishes to keep ownership and control of europython.org. However he has
changed the DNS to point to the new server, also the mx entries.

Question: what mail addresses do we want set up for
europython.eu/europython.org? I have no idea of what has been in use
historically.

The plan is to migrate everything to europython.eu if everyone agrees,
europython.org can point to this.

3. Wiki

* Styling - Any news from Radomir, TheSheep?
* Structure - no comments, everyone seems happy.
* Population - some people have started this. Thanks Ciaran, input
from more people would be welcome.

* Organisers' pages - see wiki.europython.eu/Organisers Nick to update.

4. Talks

* Submissions System. Operational. next stage is to interface with
last year's backend to generate the web pages/time table etc (Action:
John, Zeth)
* Organisation. Tartley seems to be getting stuck in here. Thanks!

5. Keynotes

Confirmed: Prof Sir Tony Hoare, Cory Doctorow, Jim Hugunin. No more
action needed for now.

6. Sprints

I have no more news. Do the PyPy guys wnat to a couple of days before
(28th/29th June) and a couple after (4th/5th July)?

7. Publicity/Announcement
Martin will report

8. Sponsorship
Quentin has been working on the brochure. John has contacted
Microsoft, Sun and Google. They all want a brochure.

9. Accommodation
The costs on the accommodation page will be updated before the next
meeting. We are trying to negotiate rates for a better hotel than the
Etap as the main conference hotel. Holiday Inn have offered £85.
Prices needed from Premier Inn etc

10. Registration etc
We have applied for a new improved PayPal Website Payments Pro
account. A booking page will be done when we know the hotel costs. The
plan is to have this up during February and offer an extra early bird
discount for a limited period (say one week). Alex (moreati) has
started updating Dinu's badge software so that all the
conference-specific information will be held in the pickle.

There is a subversion repository with Trac for software and conference
materials at http://repo.uk-archive.net/trac It's password-protected
so ask if you need access.

11. AOB.

12. Next Meeting
probably February 10th, 18:00 GMT, 19:00 CET

Best wishes,

John
