Andreas is curious whether the conference wifi will have port 22 open, so he can demo something over SSH during his talk.

I have advised him not to rely on wifi, and have a backup plan, and he says he will host the server locally on his lappy and will be prepared to do without the internet. But if the wifi is available, he will at least first try to do it live over the internet.

Does anyone have reason to believe port 22 (ssh) might not be open?

Thanks,

        Jonathan

Dear Krzysztof and Jonathan,

Attached please find the current state of the slides for my talk,
"Reliable Web Sites in Python", plus some code samples.

These are still subject to some changes, and are marked as "draft"
throughout -- I hope that's alright.

Jonathan, can you confirm whether there will be a projector in the room,
and would you possibly know what the screen resolution is in pixels? And
will I have a chance earlier in the day to test it with my laptop?

Finally, will there be a wireless internet connection in the room, with
port 22 open for SSH access? I plan on doing a couple of demos on a
live server, and internet access would be helpful. If not, I can run
them off my laptop.

Thanks for all the work you're putting into the conference, and best
regards,

Andreas

Greetings,

I represent a group of volunteers working on the EuroPythonCon 2009
conference. We are putting together a “take-away” CD which will
include slides and presentation made be you, plus much more i.e. free
Python books, manuals and guides, platform-dependent installers (*nix,
OS X, Windows) and necessary auxiliary libraries, etc. Therefore, I
would like to ask you kindly for help. I you have any slides,
presentations and source code (examples, libraries, etc), multimedia
files, video clips, animations, etc, etc which are ready to be
included, then please send them to me as soon as possible – I have to
incorporate then into the CD image prior to sending it to the facility
responsible for manufacturing them.

Also, I want to take the liberty and remind about forthcoming deadline
for submitting your slides and presentation. If you are a speaker
conducting the tutorial session, then you should submit relevant
slides and presentation before the 18th of June 2009. If you are a
speaker giving a talk, then you should submit relevant slides and
presentation before 22nd of June 2009.

Thank you so much for help and making this happen!

Sincerely,
Krzysztof Wilczynski
