"M.-A. Lemburg" <[email protected]>:
It's just a very short summary of a rather extensive test done
by various PSF members when the same question came up some weeks
ago.
There were issues with the browser requirements (Java and JavaScript),
people got errors, could vote multiple times (at least it appeared
that way), etc.
I can't copy the other responses from the PSF list, but here's my
summary: [...]
Thanks for the details! If it hasn't happened yet and if you
don't mind I'd like to forward these to the author, Ben Adida.
I'm not sure HTTPS is possible on Google's AppEngine, but I'd
be surprised with errors like multiple votes per user. I met
Ben's former professor giving a nice presentation of Helios
Voting at a conference.
BTW, there are papers about the implementation (search for
"helios voting pdf") and the software itself is Open Source,
but you have to dig a bit on Ben's site. On GAE it runs on
Django, there should be a non-Google version soon.
Regards,
Dinu
