All,

As it appears that much of the outsourced partner programme has been cancelled
due to cost and lack of interest, may I suggest:

The conference hotel, Hotel Mediterraneo, offers cooking courses conducted by
the chef de cuisine, Andrea Ragioni, ranging from 4 hours, to 16 hours spread
over 4 days; at prices to match, naturally: they start at €110, with a discount
if you are staying at the hotel, and another discount if the group is 4 or
larger, so that could work out at €72.

All of these courses are for a minimum of 2 people. My wife is a keen hobby
chef (a Dutch term for which I can think of no better English phrase) and she
is game for at least two of them. So each needs only one other taker for it to
be a go. I am going on the assumption that the courses are being offered this
week. We did try to confirm with the hotel about that, but haven’t had a
response yet. For more info:

. If your partner is interested, my wife Janet would be happy to hear from you
at [email protected] .

At the cheap-and-cheerful end of the price scale there is a hop-on, hop-off bus
tour of Florence/Fiesole:
Daily on double-decker buses, with commentary in seven languages, ticket valid
for 24 hours on both lines:
Red Line A: FS Station, Duomo, Piazzale Michelangelo, Palazzo Pitti and many
other places of historic interest
Green Line B: Duomo, Uffizzi Gallery, Fiesole, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Pitti and
many other places of historic interest.
