I think the biggest thing is that setting those flags means nothing. I choose not to view the "flag" setting and I turn down return reciept on a permanent basis. You might find it important to set the flags but there is no mechanism whatsoever that guarantees that the user honors them. So in a way, they are tricking You into believing that You can create a sense of urgensy by using them...but You can't. As always..if it's urgent: Call.

So long as someone does nothing against the laws you should let him decide by himself what is moral or not, you are not the pope and we are no catechumens; paternalism produces bad software (and yes, I am immoral :D!). It is not proprietary crap when you want to grab someone by his b****cks which left you in the lurch. This time I used thunderbird to set these flags and I am glad that they will be implemented soon in evolution too.
