Desktop enviroment is KDE 3

I believe that I upgraded via an "update packages" scheme since I did not load 
in a clean install and I did not redo the partitions.

Currently, when I click on "lock screen", nothing happens.

Disregard the thread, problem solved.... Turns out that the screen saver to be 
used had been flushed as a result of the upgrade. Thus when I went to lock 
the screen, an invalid screen saver was selected. I simply selected one the 
the few screen savers left, and TADA! fixed!

Thanks for the replies. Sometimes one can't  see the forest 'cause the trees 
are in the way!
