k. First question here for me is what is the result of /etc/init.d/proftpd status Second what is the result of rpm -qa | grep proftpd The first one if is says that it is not running then do a service proftpd start re-run the status and see what happend. On the second one it's there to make sure that it's all installed right and to know the version we are working with. James
