From Cinescape:
Pygram Talks Scorpius
Not only is actor Wayne Pygram talking about his Farscape character,
Scorpius, but he's also shedding some light on the start of the third
season of the Sci Fi cable channel TV series.
While talking to Ian Spelling's Inside Trek & Sci Fi column, the actor
spoke of playing the baddie, saying, "He's dressed in leather, he's sexy
and he's refined and cultured...And he's also evil...Scorpius is
conscience-free, but he's not Adolf Eichmann in the sense of torture for
pleasure. He's someone on a journey - Scorpius seeks knowledge, seeks
truth, but he just happens to do it a very cold way. The audience loves
that, that notion of going through life conscience-free. There's a lot of
freedom in that."
The actor also spoke of what he would like to do with the character,
saying, "We've seen him aboard his command carrier or on a base, but
there's no doubt that he has a home. I'd like to see him at home. I'd also
love to see more back story. He's very self-sufficient now, but how did he
start? How big a mess, physically, was he?"
He adds, "To me Scorpius is Stephen Hawking, the guy in the wheelchair in
the corner of the classroom, who none of the kids will talk to. He's the
guy who was picked on, the guy they poked fun at, but he's evolved into the
most potent and powerful being in this world...Scorpius, however, turned evil."
Regarding what lies ahead on Farscape, Pygram reveals, "What we're dealing
with in the opener, and what we'll be dealing with for the major arc of
series three for me, is wormholes and also John Crichton's brain. Also,
we'll deal with the notion of Scorpius and John Crichton being one, and
what that means to both Scorpius and Crichton.
"I know it doesn't sound like much, but I may actually have said too much
already."
