Xenite.Org has enjoyed considerable growth in traffic over the past few months. Although we moved our forums to a dedicated server and domain (http://www.sf-fandom.com/) last November, Xenite.Org's traffic and server usage has continued to increase significantly. Our Web-hosting with Altaway ends on February 18. We have signed up with a new service and are in the processing of moving Xenite.Org's content there. When we have set up the new server, we will have to change our DNS record with Network Solutions. This change will be broadcast to domain name servers around the world and people will begin to see our new server within 12 hours. It may take 2-3 days for most people to see the new server. All email sent to Xenite.Org, either private addresses or mailing lists, will be delivered to one or the other servers. We may NOT, during this critical period, receive any urgent messages. I will send out one more announcement after I make the change in our DNS record. From that time forward, you should allow about a 3 day window to be sure that your ISP has updated their DNS server. I will include in that message some instructions to help you access our new server right away, if you wish to do that. We will be copying all of our email lists to the new server, which we are told supports majordomo mailing lists. We have no reason, at this time, to anticipate any problems with the move.
