I use a combination of sticks and heavy contractors paper, a turn of sticks,
then contractors paper for a bit, then more sticks. (if you want a 20"
width, you can cut off 20" sideways and then the 30" is the length.

I went to the lumber place and bought a maple1X8 or something 47" long and
asked how many times and how thin they could rip the board. The guys took
it as a challange and I ended up with a nice pile of warping sticks that
only needed a little bit of sanding. I waited a polite interval and went
back and did the same with a 38" board for my other loom. . Measure the warp
beam to figure out the widest that will fit. Hard wood like maple works
better than pine trim, or old vinyl blinds, both of which I tried and gave
up on.
If the warp looks funny on the back beam, you can rewind it in about the
same time it took to wind in the first place.
