Here is the note from my friend in Israel...

 >I don't know a lot about current sheep breeds but I've heard that most 
of the sheep are Corriedale. (Their fleece is not very good -- too 
sunburnt and full of VM, also very short staple because shorn several 
times a year). The Jacobs sheep I've seen only in zoos. The sheep here 
tend to be on the small side. It's much too hot for breeds like Merino.
