Disclaimer: I am not an expert on libpng. The error you are getting suggests a conflict with stuff you installed outside of fink (or some other package installed). Take a look at http://www.finkproject.org/faq/comp-general.php?phpLang=en#usr-local-libs and see if the suggested fix there helps.
