(CC’ing the listed fig2dev maintainer) My understanding is that fig2dev has replaced transfig for xfig-3.2.6. It doesn’t build a “transfig” executable by default, though. I just updated transfig* to conflict properly with fig2dev. For right now, you won’t be able to have fig2dev + xfig and transfig-graphicx + octave* installed simultaneously. If Octave will get along with fig2dev (which might require enabling the legacy transfig executable in the fig2dev build) then we can get rid of this problem.
