A possible workaround for now is to make sure that /usr/bin/tar comes  
before /sw/bin/tar in PATH. I did a ln -s /usr/bin/tar ~/bin/tar and  
then make sure I export PATH="~/bin:$PATH". I do this since I prefer  
Apple's tar which understands extended attributes and I've never had  
an issue with the "file changed as we read it" error.
